How an infrared photocell works

A photoelectric sensor or photocell is an electronic device that responds to change in light intensity. These sensors require an emitting component that generates the light, and a receiving component that perceives the light generated by the emitter. All the different sensing modes are based on this operating principle. They are specially designed for the detection, classification and positioning of objects; the detection of shapes, colors and surface differences, even under extreme environmental conditions.
