The LM2931AD-5.0G is an adjustable output Low Dropout (LDO) Linear Voltage Regulator designed to maintain proper regulation with extremely low input to output voltage differential. This device is capable of supplying output currents greater than 100 mA and features a low bias current of 0.4 mA at 10 mA output. Designed primarily to survive in the harsh automotive environment, this device will protect all external charging circuits from input fault conditions caused by battery reverse connection, two battery starts, and excessive line transients during load dump. This series also includes internal current limiting with thermal shutdown.
